Do you feel a pressure to box yourself in?

You are complex.

You deserve a group that makes you feel seen. You are tired of reducing your identity.

Our process is thoughtful.

We use a variety of modalities and client centered approaches to help process the complexity of being from a biracial, bicultural or multicultural background.

We process hard topics together like imposter syndrome, the concept and pressure of passing (not only white passing) cultural erasure, reduction, cultural complexity, celebration, and belonging.

Through being with others you will experience a feeling of universality and altruism. You will also discuss hard things, but be in the company of others who get it or who want to get it.

I came to the realization that this was needed.

I am an Italian and Puerto Rican New Yorker of bicultural descent.

Part of the reason I became a therapist was because of the glaring cultural incompetencies I faced in finding care. I scoured the internet at one point for a processing group like this one and came up empty.

As the facilitator, I do not dominate the group with my own personal feelings about my own struggles, but might sometimes share or relate very sparingly when it is appropriate. I decided to let you know my background so you can know this is personal for me.

This group meets virtually.

It is Wednesdays at 6PM, but based on demand I can run another.

Group members democratically set community agreements, and members inform the facilitator on how they feel about the group topics and relevancy. This group is for you.

Please note that the multicultural experience is extremely unique, and I cannot possibly capture it in a blurb or in a preview of some topics.

  • Universality - helps group members realize that they are not alone in their suffering and the problems they face and that others are willing to support them, which helps move group members out of isolation and can be profoundly healing.
